    • Remediation created a vegetation cap which had a soil coverage of more than 55% in the first year. Plant coverage consistently increased with time following remediation. • Remediation also attracted birds to the areas. More than 10 bird species were observed at each remediated area, but none in the control areas.   The Mission Mine work has shown that biosolids can be utilized to successfully enhance revegetation of neutral pH mine tailings.     The following photos are taken of a copper mine where the mine tailings were planted to re-vegetate the disturbed areas. In the following picture oat grass was planted to revegetate the copper mine tailings. The areas that were treated showed significant improvement in root zone and plant development.
